A few days ago I saw hlvrai again and when I finished it I did what I always do every time I see a series or game that I like to go see fan arts and at this time I found several drawings that I liked among them one that caught my attention was some troll versions of the characters made by

i had a question about your homestuck au! how did you pick their blood colors? was it just because of their text color? because feetman doesnt have a text color i was wondering about that
this is such a good question!! technically, yes! this is what i did.
what i wanna touch in regarding this is that, yeah i thought it would be cool to match their blood color to their text colors in the show (within the hemospectrum limitations, a little) buuut within alternian rules, this would kinda mess everyone up if I wanted to give them their text colors (i just like tying things up with a neat little bow like that.)
While I don’t believe blood colors means anything regarding personality, i always like to keep in mind the roles that alternian society gives to specific blood castes. Like Bubby is so clearly not a teal blood in Alternian standards, and Tommy would not be a gold blood…. the roles they give to those castes just doesn’t fit them. And to kinda counter-act that, I just made a whole new fanplanet with its own caste for them to all live in. I don’t like being held back by Alternia’s restrictions for aus. I think its funner for me to hold true to hlvrai canon in a fun and different way :D
So to sum it up, blood colors are more related to Societal Roles than they are to personality (for me, and Im sure for others) and thats why I made a fanplanet from the ground up, and it’s all because I wanted to give them blood colors that matched their text. LOL. If I were maybe going by canon alternian roles, Tommy may be a violetblood? Or even a fuschia heir with G-man being the emperor-kinda?
But this isn’t what I wanted…. I wanted to have fun ^_^. SO. He’s a yellow-blooded sea-dweller instead.
…As for Gordon, he just kinda felt like a Bronze blood to me. Idk LOL. maybe it was the hev suit.

This is an interesting question! Well, they have backgrounds that are heavily dependent on their society’s structure. If there is anyone in particular you wanna know about lemme know but Ill give you a general rundown of the first three. i don’t wanna write too much so if u wanna know everyone else lmk!
gordon: raised by a vortigaunt lusus, he was raised in such a way that the rules of society kind of bind him or hold him back. he’s heavily reliant on the rules and structure of society (at first) so he doesnt associate with too many “highbloods” (they really freak him out.) and stays in his own lane. he may or may not have a little seadweller grub he took in a sweep or so back…but idk.
benrey: ??? who knows where theyre from. they’re a mutant little hybrid. they’re never really seen out of black mesa. though gordon swears he’s seen them hanging around the ocean on his commute to work. their lusus is [REDACTED.]
tommy: has a lusus who’s a giant dog… you already KNOW. being a yellowblooded seadweller means he is technically a highblood but he doesnt hold himself like one because for the first half of his life he was raised on land and on land yellowbloods are lowbloods! but then the g-man took him in as an…apprentice? son? and he was then raised under water. he comes back to land to work at black mesa.

OH OOF should have clarified that the crush thing ONLY applies when theres a romance color applied to it. Blue on its own is purely platonic! Its meant to signify that they have some kind of connection.
recently got back into hlvr & as a passive fan of hs (namely sburb mechanics) ur AU is making my brain explode . i get the vibe tht gordon & benrey are vacillating red/blackrom but do you have any other quadrant notes? i feel like benrey and tommie would be moirails ...
