Thank you SO much!! That line hits me really hard too :’) Abuela Alma discourse is hard to read thru, but she really reminds me of my own grandma in both the good and the bad so I feel like a lot of nuance is needed. She really just wanted to keep her family safe. She made so many mistakes in the process.
Intergenerational trauma is real and visceral for everybody involved.
